INN3949CQ transformer parameter design

Posted by: Hanjingsen on

Mr. / Ms. PI engineer, currently our company is going to use inn3949cq chip to build a power output, if I want to meet the 300V-1000V input, 12V/15W output, can you tell me the relevant parameters of the transformer to meet this demand? For example, the number of primary and secondary side turns, the inductance of primary side, the inductance of secondary side, the voltage of auxiliary winding and so on. Attached is the transformer detailed parameter table we made, I wonder if it meets the design requirements?

It would be much appreciated if you could let us know, thank you!

Hi Hanjingsen,

Good day. Thank you for your interest in using Power Integrations solutions.

We tried to replicate your transformer construction in our PI Expert Online tool, however, as observed, the specified inductance value is too high for the application, hence, estimation did not proceed. We cannot guarantee operation if we proceed with the existing 20.5mH inductance value.

With same core and turns ratio, we suggest adjusting the inductance of the existing transformer into the value calculated by the design spreadsheet in this link, which is about 269 µH.

You may also refer to the device design guide for further information.

I hope this works for you. Should you require further assistance, please let us know.

Kind Regards,

Hueka
